OKC Pre-School & Day Care Curriculum

Our Daily Activities

Whether your child is years away from pre-k or already enjoying elementary school, we are ready to help them learn, play, and grow through our specially tailored curriculum.
Our daily activities and schedules are posted in each classroom and include our lesson plans, meal times, nap time and sleep arrangements, and outdoor play (when weather permits). Each classroom has a lesson plan that is designed specifically for the children in that class. Our providers then individualize each lesson based on every child’s developmental needs and special interests.

Early Learning Matters
At Child Care Inc., we are on the journey of implementing the “Early Learning Matters” (ELM) curriculum in our classrooms. This curriculum was developed by Purdue University and aims to create positive outcomes in every development area from birth to age five years.
Helpful Things to Know About ELM Curriculum
The Early Learning Matters curriculum combines the latest research on childhood development with the best practices in early education and care. As a result, the program provides a developmentally appropriate yet fully comprehensive approach to learning for each child. Some highlights of ELM include:
- The whole-child focus, which helps young children develop skills that support school readiness and success in life.
- Developmentally sequenced activities and embedded strategies, which are available for individual learning.
- A variety of evidence-based and easy-to-use resources that are available for classroom staff and families.
- Specialized training tools that support direct care staff from diverse professional backgrounds.
The heart of ELM lies in the activity plans that build on a child’s development pathways in five infant/toddler areas and eight OKC pre-school areas. The plans support growth and development through various learning activities that carefully examine differences in each child’s abilities and interests.
Curriculum for School-Age Children

At Child Care Inc., we believe it is imperative to support school-age children in their academic learning. However, we recognize that children in school also need to focus on developing skills for life. That is why, during our after-school time, we concentrate on developing self-help skills. We also encourage children to build positive mindsets and discuss life goals.
To ensure your school-age children always have care available, we offer care during school closures. This includes Spring Break, Summer Break, and most school closings. For more information on open dates, please contact us.
We also offer complimentary transportation to and from our local schools. Please check our Locations page to see if your child’s school is on our route.

Linwood Lab

During the Summer Break, we help our school-aged kiddos stay engaged by organizing various field trips and activities. This includes excursions to our very own Linwood Lab!
The Linwood Lab is our exclusive summer hangout spot where children can interact with virtual reality, make arts and crafts projects, explore with microscopes, and create masterpieces on 3D printers.
Summer spots fill up quickly – so don’t delay! All program supports are included in our summertime programming as well. If you have any questions, please get in touch.
