Early Learning Matters
We recently began the journey to implement Early Learning Matters curriculum in our classrooms.
ELM Curriculum
Purdue University developed The Early Learning Matters (ELM) curriculum to create positive outcomes in every development area from birth to age five years. ELM combines the latest research on child development and the best practices in early education and care. As a result, the program provides a developmentally appropriate yet comprehensive approach to learning for each child.
- The whole-child focus develops skills that support school readiness and success in life.
- There are developmentally sequenced activities and embedded strategies available for individual learning.
- Evidence-based and easy-to-use resources are available for classroom staff and families.
- Training tools will support direct care staff from diverse professional backgrounds.
Activity plans that build on children’s development pathways in five infant/toddler areas and eight preschool areas are the heart of ELM. The plans support growth and development through various active learning opportunities that carefully examine differences in each child’s abilities and interests.
School-Age Children
At Child Care Inc., we believe it is imperative to support school-age children in their academic learning. However, children in school also need to focus on developing skills for life. We concentrate our after-school time on developing self-help skills as well as building positive mindsets, and discussing life goals.
We also offer care during school closures such as Spring Break, Summer Break, and most school closings.
We offer complimentary transportation to and from our local schools. Please check our locations page to see if your child’s school is on our route.
Linwood Lab
During Summer Break, we keep our school-age kiddos engaged by organizing various field trips and activities in our area, including excursions to our very own Linwood Lab.
The Linwood Lab is our exclusive summer hangout where children can interact with virtual reality, make art and craft projects, explore with microscopes, and create masterpieces on 3D printers.
Summer spots fill up quickly, so don’t delay saving a spot. All program supports are included in our Summer programming as well.
